On the temporary side, we currently offer both short and long term roles in 4 key areas. This does not mean we cannot support you to find your ideal temporary role in another field.
Listed below are descriptions of the 4 key areas we cover, along with details of what experience and qualifications you will need as a temp in these areas. Please note that for all roles we have available, we will require full referencing and a DBS check which is on the online update service. Staff without an online DBS check will be required to complete a new one prior to starting.
Children's Residential Support Work
The roles we have in this area involve supporting Children and Young People in residential Children’s homes, and also semi-independent settings. There are a mix of shifts available, but typically will include long days, sleep-in shifts and waking nights.
In order to work as a temporary member of staff, you will need to have experience working in a similar setting (voluntary or paid), totalling at least 12 months and will have completed your basic training. Some of the Children’s homes that we work with will require that you hold an NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or Children and Young People’s workforce. If you have experience in youth work, or in Nurseries with young people aged 5 and under, this may well be something that would suit the clients that we work with.
We are able to offer NVQ training to staff who are working regularly and meet the criteria set by our training provider.
Roles within the Adult’s Care sector are varied. We have a range of clients, from private hospitals to care and nursing homes and supported accommodation for adults with learning difficulties and mental health issues. Shifts are varied, with a mixture of long and short day shifts, waking nights and sleep-in shifts.
In order to work as a temporary member of staff in Adult’s Care, you will need to have an absolute minimum of 6 months’ experience in a similar role. To work with some of the more specialist clients, for example in mental health, more experience may be required. You will also be required to hold in date mandatory training certificates. NVQ in Health and Social Care at level 2 or 3 is advantageous as the majority of our clients have a preference to work with staff who have undergone this training.
Funded NVQ training is available for staff who are working regularly with us and who meet the criteria of our training provider.
We work with a number of clients including Nursing homes and private hospitals. In the future we may also supply nursing staff into the NHS, so please get in contact if this is something that you are interested in. There are a mix of shifts available, covering both days and nights. We have roles available for both RGN and RMN and are looking to supply midwives in the future also.
In order to work as a temporary Nurse, you will need to hold a valid NMC PIN number and must have completed your post-qualification preceptorship.
We are currently working with small, local, independent pharmacies to supply locum pharmacists. In the future we will also look to supply into some of the bigger, national contracts. Shifts currently available include a mix of long and short days, and also the possibility of some night work in some of the pharmacies that we service.
In order to work as a locum pharmacist, you will need to hold a valid GPHC number, MUR Certificate, Repeat Dispensing certificate and current Professional Indemnity insurance. Roles may also be available for dispensing technicians, pharmacy assistants and drivers.
